Signal Deck

A dark instrument surface for a company that is operated, not browsed. Warm charcoal ground, one luminous current of signal red, phosphor green for “live”, amber reserved for human authority. The product is touched — icons, windows, dock — never explained.

Mark

A stitched S — the thread that runs through the product. Signal red on dark, never recolored, never on photography.

Color roles

Near-monochrome deck. Signal appears when intent is asked for; green when the environment holds; amber only where a human must decide.

Typography

Space Grotesk speaks; IBM Plex Mono records. Mono is reserved for evidence, labels, and machine references.

Windows drag by this bar, resize from the corner, stack by focus, minimize to the dock. On phones they become full-screen sheets.

Motion

Motion signals real state: assemble, breathe, spring. Never decoration.

Draw — intent becoming structure, once, then rest.
Breathe — the company is alive; a 4.6s rhythm.
working Spring — windows and icons use a slight overshoot; every state lands on a written word.

prefers-reduced-motion collapses every duration and stops the breath; the words remain.

Why this is Swype

The mapping from product truth to surface decision.

The deck is the company. Apps are icons with badges, not menu entries; work opens as windows you arrange, not pages you visit. The desktop metaphor is the product: a place you operate.

Green means the environment holds this. Ready, approved, live. Amber means a person must decide. Wherever policy stops work, the boundary is amber — never the agent’s color.

No paragraphs where a demonstration works. The public page shows intent assembling into an environment instead of describing it. The workspace shows state instead of documenting it.

Candidate decisions: the “Signal Deck” direction, dark warm charcoal ground, signal/go/amber state triad, Space Grotesk + Plex Mono pairing, squircle icon system, windowed desktop with dock. Prototype decisions, open to founder revision.
